Granted to five students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at UPEI who will study abroad as part of their UPEI education. Study abroad opportunities must be officially sanctioned by the university and be for academic credit towards a student's current degree. Applicants must submit their scholarship application prior to their study abroad experience and their personal statement needs to detail their interest in practical learning experiences and how traveling abroad will contribute to the sustainability of the social and economic development of the Island and broader communities. Students will need to provide documentation to scholarships@upei.ca that confirms their plans to study abroad, including 1) A letter of reference signed by their respective program coordinator or department illustrating they have been accepted to participate in a study abroad experience, and 2) Proof of flight purchase (e.g., travel itinerary and boarding pass) showing their name and travel details. Student recipients will provide a synopsis of their experience upon their return, which will be shared with BMO Financial Group. Funds are typically disbursed to UPEI students' accounts during the semester they intend to study abroad. The reviewing committee reserves the right to rescind an offer should a student's study abroad plans change, as they may no longer be eligible for the scholarship.

To recognize the contribution of seniors to the classroom, the Centennial Scholars - Seniors' Bursary program is open to residents of Prince Edward Island aged 60 and over. One Seniors' tuition waiver per year is available to all UPEI seniors for the tuition cost of one undergraduate course. These awards will be granted after consideration of any government or other funding to which the recipient is allotted. Preference will be given to those who have no other avenues of funding or support in their pursuit of post-secondary education. Pending successful completion of the first year of study, these awards will be renewable for recipients' second, third, and fourth years of study, totalling a maximum of four years. Successful yearly completion includes maintaining satisfactory academic standing with an overall average of 75% in first year of an academic program, and an overall average of 80% thereafter, while carrying a full course load of 10 courses, or 30 semester-hours of credit, over the academic year from September to May. Additionally, all student recipients are required to participate with at least one mentor each year in an extracurricular activity throughout their program. Evidence of the mentorship activity is required each year in the form of a short report, due annually on March 31st, before recipients are considered qualified for renewal of the award.

Eligible candidates must be students who: a) are graduates of PEI high schools; b) do not qualify for Canadian Permanent Resident status; and c) are from war zones as defined by the University based on internationally recognized lists of war-torn countries (i.e., United Nations, Global Affairs). The scholarship is renewable over students second, third, and fourth year of study provided they remain in good academic throughout their studies while carrying a minimum full-time course load of 18 semester hours over the academic year (September to May). Typically, this corresponds to a minimum of 3 courses (9 semester hours of credit) in each semester (Fall and Winter). The intention of the scholarship is to offset international fees for eligible students in good academic standing pursuing full-time studies. Granted to a student entering the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College. The successful candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada who is normally resident in Atlantic Canada, have a demonstrated financial need, and have a strong academic record in their previous degree. Preference will be given to students who have been involved in extracurricular activities (i.e., community participation, leadership qualities, and/or the performing arts), and have an interest in pursuing bovine, pathology, wildlife or aquatic veterinary medicine. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years (including the entrance year). Each year, a new entrance student will be selected. If for any reason any successful candidate should discontinue studies in the DVM program at the Atlantic Veterinary College at UPEI, and therefore lose eligibility for renewal of this scholarship, another candidate entering the same year of the original recipient will be chosen.
