Tsang Choi Shin Hang Memorial Scholarship
|Occasion:||Awarded at other times throughout the year.|
|Process:||Award application flyer will be circulated by Faculty of Education each spring.|
|Description:||Awarded to a full-time student entering the Bachelor of Education program.|
|Background:||The Tsang Choi Shin Hang Memorial Bursary is established at the University of Prince Edward Island by Alfred Chun Wai Tsang, an alumnus of St. Dunstan's University, 1960, in loving memory of his mother. Shin Hang (literally, her name means 'genteel natural beauty') was the driving force which led to Alfred's coming to Canada to continue his education. In the 1950's when Hong Kong was still in the "third world country" status, her sacrifice in sending her son abroad to study will insp ire many of us even today. Because she valued the importance of education, it is only fitting that this bursary is established to assist a deserving student who is pursuing a career in education.|
