|Background:||The family of Wendell and Dorothy Profitt of PEI, including their daughter Judy[Speech-Language Pathologist) and son Allen [Orthopedic Surgeon,) has contributed to the community, the environment, and the wellbeing of animals [both wildlife and companion animals) for decades on Prince Edward Island. During his lifetime, Wendell's contributions [as a graduate Forester from UNB) to Island forests, Provincial Parks and Island Nature Trust were immense. His daughter Judy continued Wendell?s legacy and provided her own multiple charitable gifts to organizations throughout Prince Edward Island that support the environment, that assist individuals medically and contribute to the lives of large and small animals. Judy and her late husband Ron Hughes' beloved Shih Tzus had occasion to be cared for and receive delicate surgery at AVC; both important to their life and well-being. Because of her respect for the Atlantic Veterinary College, Judy has stablished this endowed fund to support future veterinarians.|
