|Background:||Dr Wenonah Foster was born in Wales. She was trained as a medical doctor and came to PEI with her husband,Reverend John Foster, in 1959 where she had a distinguished medical career. Dr Foster was deeply interested inastronomy and contributed strongly to the Charlottetown Astronomy Club, of which she was President in 1991/92.The knowledge she shared was appreciated by all members and Dr Foster has been sadly missed since her death in1997. In respect of her memory and love of astronomy , the Charlottetown Astronomy Club established the DrWenonah Foster Memorial Prize in Astronomy at the University of Prince Edward Island.|
