| Background: | Evelyn Patricia "Patty" Matheson lived a long and productive life. She passed away at the age of 98. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Matheson and sister of Florence Simmons and the late Louis (Agnes) Simmons. Based on her belief in the value of post-secondary education, Evelyn Matheson left a substantial bequest to the University of Prince Edward Island, including funding for four scholarships and a major residual undesignated gift. This award, one of four established through the estate of Evelyn Matheson, honours her uncle, D.A. Matheson, and is to support a scholarship in Business Administration. |
