Parents, Carers, and Supporters

At UPEI, your student is known, supported, and set up for success!

At UPEI, your student won’t get lost in the crowd. They’ll learn in smaller classes, build meaningful relationships with professors and peers, and be supported every step of the way in a safe, welcoming campus community. Combined with career-focused learning, hands-on experiences, and exceptional affordability, UPEI offers students the confidence and support they need to thrive, both at university and beyond.

Why do parents and supporters choose UPEI?

The University of Prince Edward Island is the perfect university for your student!

Personalized program options and small class sizes

Our students have direct access to their professors and instructors, creating opportunities for one-on-one mentorship. 53% of our classes have fewer than 30 students, and our 18:1 students to faculty member ratio ensures meaningful collaboration.

Affordability

UPEI combines an exceptional student experience with one of the most affordable university environments in Canada. Competitive tuition, generous scholarships and bursaries, and the lower cost of living in Prince Edward Island help students and families manage costs while still receiving a highly personalized education experience.

The George Coles Bursary provides $14,000 to PEI students over a four-year undergraduate degree. And all students can access up to $3,000 per year of study through the UPEI Celebrating Student Achievement Awards program, and hundreds of entrance awards and program-specific scholarships.

Career readiness and professional networking

Your students become a part of UPEI's professional network on their first day. Our Experiential Education department manages opportunities in career services, co-operative education programs, and industry connections in dozens of sectors and workplace contexts.

Support every step of the way

UPEI student advisors are here to help! Whether it's choosing the right program, registering for classes, or touring our campus, they have the answers. And that one-on-one support continues once you've chosen UPEI—academic advising for every student in any program, accessibility services and confidential mental health services, and peer support are only a few services to help your student become a part of UPEI's tight-knit campus culture.
