This award was named by Mi'kmaq Elder Judy Clark and is funded by Dr. Marti Hopson. Marti Hopson has been with the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) for 20 years as a small animal veterinarian. She is one of the coordinators of the Chinook Project which provides essential veterinary care to remote communities in Canada's north.
