"Hey! Luke Ignace here and I'm excited to share the vision that I have for a united Caribbean and Atlantic Canada with you! In a world that is so bitter and divisive, it's so good to see ideas that bring people together. Let's bring the warmth back to winter! Let's send a gift to the Bahamas. This is the initiation of a very mutual, and synergistic relationship with the Caribbean and Atlantic Canada"
The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2021 3M National Student Fellowship Award.
The 3M National Student Fellowship honours up to ten full-time diploma and undergraduate students at Canadian post-secondary institutions who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their lives and at their post-secondary institution. These students embrace a vision of education that enhances their academic experience and beyond.
This award is the first in Canada to build community among visionary student leaders who demonstrate outstanding leadership and innovation through seeing current needs in higher education or society and implementing change. We believe it is their voices that will shape tomorrow’s future in post-secondary education.
You can view the revised call for nominations at https://www.stlhe.ca/awards/3m-national-student-fellowships/. The submission deadline is January 29, 2021.
An info session about the 2021 criteria and application process for this award will be held via Zoom on November 10 at 2 pm EST. Click here for more info.

Dr. Daniel Adsett (recently from Marquette University) will be launching our Philosophy Department Speaker Series this Friday Nov.6 from 2 to 3 pm on the topic of:
"What's so Irrational About Delusions?: A Jaspersian Account."
With the US election happening this week, this IS the time to be talking about delusions and rationality! Dr. Adsett's talk won't focus on issues south of the border, but the relevance is abundant, as we might explore in the follow-up discussion.
For the full abstract, see the UPEI calendar entry.
