The Communications and University Relations unit in the Department of Marketing and Communications develops and executes communications strategies to promote the University and to build its reputation among external and internal audiences on PEI, in the region, across the country, and around the world. We achieve this by creating awareness about the University through reinforcing UPEI’s core values; highlighting its academic programs and research excellence; and celebrating the success of students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Our unit supports the University by managing issues and crisis communications, and providing communications advice and services to the senior executive team, faculties, and departments. Key services we provide include:

• communications strategy development and execution;
• media relations and media interview preparation;
• speech and message writing;
• development of institutional publications;
• copy editing for marketing and collateral materials; and
• institutional event consultation, management, and support.
