The Atlantic Veterinary Collegeis opening the door to more Canadian veterinary students by reclassifying its 19 international seats as unsubsidized, beginning with the 2025–2026 admissions cycle.

UPEI's Board of Governors approved a balanced operating budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, despite a challenging financial environment primarily caused by federal immigration policy changes. The operating budget has increased by 11.2 per cent to $202.9M.

In a message to the campus community, President Wendy Rodgers and VP Administration and Finance Tim Walker announced that the UPEI Board of Governors approved a balanced operating budget at its May 27 meeting.

Dr. Wendy Rodgers announced in a community message that the UPEI Action Plan Progress Report for Year 0 and Year 1 is now available online. She also hosted an "Action Plan Update" Town Hall on May 28.
