| Athletics

U SPORTS announced today that 23 student-athletes, including UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers TJ Shea, Kyle Maksimovich, and Matt Brassard, have been selected to play for Team Canada in men’s hockey at the 2023 Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) Winter World University Games in Lake Placid, New York. The 31st edition of the FISU Games is set for January 11–22, with the men’s hockey event running from January 12–22.

The UPEI Women’s Rugby Panthers have recruited Kiley Brow, a 17-year-old from Saint John, New Brunswick, who plays the prop position and brings a wealth of talent to the team.

| Atlantic Veterinary College

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), with support from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), hosted its first NSERC Day in Veterinary Medicine on Saturday, November 26.

Dr. Nebojsa Kujundzic, professor of philosophy at the University of Prince Edward Island and affiliate professor at the University of Malta, delivered an opening keynote lecture and chaired two sessions at a conference in Valletta, Malta, on November 17.
