Congratulations to Sophie Carragher and Ignacio Sanchez, the UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for September 17–23.

The Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU) announced the recipients of its region awards for excellence in teaching and education leadership. Among the honourees was Dr. Greg Doran, chair and associate professor of English at UPEI and coordinator of UPEI’s theatre studies program.

Several members of UPEI’s Department of English will be on hand to help celebrate Canadian poet, novelist, and essayist David Helwig. “An Evening with David Helwig” will be held Tuesday, September 25 at 7:30 pm in the Carriage House of Beaconsfield Historic House on the Charlottetown waterfront. 

The UPEI Women’s and Men’s Hockey teams both see pre-season action this weekend at home. 

Students from UPEI’s Kinesiology 3430 class are seeking participants to take part in a six-week exercise-training program.

UPEI’s Institute of Island Studies and the UNESCO Chair in Island Studies and Sustainability hosted a weekend of meetings with representatives and researchers from a dozen islands around the world. 

The UPEI Department of Modern Languages is proud to welcome its first ever French Writer-in-Residence Dominic Langlois, poet and young-adult novelist. 

The Panthers are back for the 2018–2019 season!
