A new book titled The Spiritual Imagination of C.S. Lewis, by Dr. Brenton Dickieson, Assistant Professor with the UPEI Faculty of Arts, will be launched on Tuesday, October 6, at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building, at UPEI. 

The Health Research Network at the University of Prince Edward Island will host an AGE-WELL AgeTech Discovery Day event on October 1 in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, from 10 am to 12 pm.

The UPEI Panther Ladner’s Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for September 21–27 are Sarah Bain (women’s rugby) and Isaac Sommerville (men’s soccer).

UPEI and the Atlantic Veterinary College held an event on September 28 to celebrate the establishment of the Dr. Etienne Côté Endowed Chair in Veterinary Cardiology, made possible through a generous gift from Sandra Irving, Sarah Irving, the Arthur and Sandra Irving Foundation, and the Arthur L. Irving Family Foundation. 

Rachel Richards, a standout defender for the UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers, has been selected as one of 22 student-athletes nationwide for the 2026–27 cohort of the Hockey Canada Creating Coaches Program.

A team of UPEI engineering students has developed an innovative device called LimbRise that could transform recovery for people with knee injuries. They recently won the Enactus Canada Early-Stage Summer Sprint National Final, earning the opportunity to compete internationally at the 2026 Enactus World Cup. 

While UPEI will be closed on September 30 as it is a statutory holiday, we will mark the NDTR with some focused events and observances on campus from September 24–September 30. 

Thanks to a generous $75,000 gift from the Faye and David Huestis Family Foundation, the Susan (Knickle) Deighan Memorial Leadership Award has been established to celebrate and support members of the UPEI Women’s Basketball program.|
 

The first meeting of the UPEI Philosophy Reading Group for the 2026–2027 academic year will take place on Wednesday, September 23, at 7 pm in the Lady Slipper Room, Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, 97 Queen Street, Charlottetown.
