| Athletics

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for January 2–8 are Taylor Gillis (women’s hockey) and Jonah Capriotti (men’s hockey).

Dr. Marva Sweeney-Nixon, professor of biology, has been appointed associate vice-president research and dean of graduate studies at UPEI, effective January 1, 2023.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is now accepting applications for the 2023 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp.

Faculty and staff were advised by email on January 6, 2023, that the Minister of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture will be appointing a mediator to assist the University and Faculty Association in reaching a collective agreement.

It was a morning of mixed emotions at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), as the AVC’s Wildlife Service prepared to bring bald eagle 450, otherwise known as “Buddy,” to his new home at Hope for Wildlife.

Festive greetings and good wishes filled the air as guests were welcomed to the New Year’s Levee held by the University of Prince Edward Island and the UPEI Alumni Association on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
