Campus Notices

It is currently survey season for us at Chartwells UPEI and we would love to know what you think about campus dining so far, such as the good,  the things we could improve on or change for the better, and/or what you would like to see more of at the dining hall or at our retail units. Throughout the years, we have been able to make so many changes at our dining locations thanks to our guests’ feedback such as bringing in a larger variety of dining choices at all of our locations. At the end of the survey, you can enter your information for a chance to WIN ONE OF TWO $50 FOOD DOLLAR PRIZES.

UPEI wishes to inform the campus community of the sad news that retired engineering professor Baird Judson passed away on Saturday, October 13 in Charlottetown. The lifelong Alexandra, PEI resident, despite battling ongoing health issues, was often seen at the Robertson Library well into his retirement years, continuing to do research. He was an active member of the Association of Retired UPEI Employees and keenly followed activities at the University, especially the development of the four-year degree program in design engineering and the construction of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building.

President Alaa Abd-El-Aziz noted, "Since my arrival at UPEI, Professor Judson took great interest in the advancement of the engineering program. While he was immensely proud of the Diploma of Engineering students he taught, he was extremely excited to see new students being able to complete a four-year design engineering degree at UPEI. His enthusiasm and dedication will be missed."

A celebration of Baird’s life will be held in July 2019. Online condolences may be made at www.macleanfh.com
