Alumni Canada Games Place Track and Field
UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place was the venue for track-and-field competitions for the 2009 Games as well as the closing ceremonies. It features a synthetic, 400-meter, eight-lane oval track; a water jump for steeplechase; a facility for long and triple jump, pole vault, discus and hammer throw, javelin throw and shot put; storage building, washrooms, and spectator seating and viewing.
The facility is situated on land provided by UPEI, and, through its name, recognizes the university's alumni for their significant financial support toward the development of this athletics venue.
The UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place Track and McAdam Field is owned by the University of Prince Edward Island and managed by the UPEI Athletics and Recreation department and as such, are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and insurance risks associated with operating a community focused facility.
Please note that to access the track and field, individuals must hold a valid membership or be part of a pre-approved organization and have a pre-programmed UPEI ID card.
Track access for both the indoor and outdoor tracks is included for full-time UPEI Students and Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre Members.
Additionally, UPEI offers “Track Only” memberships, which can be purchased directly through the Chi-Wan Young Sport Centre. Further details are available at www.upei.ca/ar/memberships
