The planning committee for Mental Health Week 2018 has been busy pulling together a week of events and information sessions to bring our community together to share, learn, and celebrate our mental health and wellness; to help end the stigma and encourage conversation on this important topic. If you would like to volunteer 1 - 3 hours of your time staffing an information booth and/or greeting people at sessions, we would love to have you. If interested, please provide your contact information here and we will be in touch the first of March.

As PEI’s only university, UPEI plays a large role in the Island’s community.

While UPEI is a major economic driver and one of the largest employers, educating our students while opening their futures to new exciting possibilities is paramount.

Many of the innovative and leading-edge initiatives and offerings at UPEI would not be possible without the help of our donors.

Giving to UPEI is giving to the people we serve ~ our students, our future.

Annually we ask UPEI Staff and Faculty to consider donating to the University.

It’s not WHAT you give, it’s THAT you give.

Together we make a difference.

Our goal is to increase the level of employee giving to 25%.

You can donate easily through payroll in three simple steps:

1. Campus Login
2. Donation by Payroll
3. Complete the brief form (and deductions appear on your T-4)

Or contact Kim Roach, Gift Processor at 902-894-2888 or karoach@upei.ca

Your donation today will help us continue to prepare our students for their future.

Please contact Jo-Ann Thomsen, Development Officer at 902-628-7984 with any questions.

Dr. Malcolm Murray will present "(Dis)solving the Ring of Gyges Problem" on February 9, 2018 at 1:00 in SDU Main Building Rm. 211.

Do we act morally because it is the right thing to do, or because we want to avoid the consequences of being caught acting immorally? Join UPEI’s Malcolm Murray as he explores this perennial philosophical problem, drawing from his new book, "Morals and Consent: Contractarian Solutions to Ethical Woes".

Everyone is welcome!

Wednesday, February 14 is Valentine’s Day. We love and appreciate our students! Stop by the Service Desk in the Library and ask any questions you may have about our services or resources. But, have some fun too!

His timely talk will look at the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders, both formed in the aftermath of war, but in different eras and contexts. Given the changing nature of conflict and the ever-increasing humanitarian cost of war, what can we learn from the formation stories of these iconic organizations that may shed light on how humanitarianism might look in the future?

As an instructor, you’ve set up a syllabus that clearly explains your expectations for where students will end up. Then you set them on the journey to that destination. However, some will get off track along the way. The information you provide, how you provide it and when you provide it will be key to getting them back on the right path or in keeping them on the right path.

In this workshop, offered by the E-Learning Office, instructors will learn strategies for the use of feedback and rubrics that they can use to accompany student assessments. You can attend on either February 8th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm or on March 5th from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Location is Room 265, Robertson Library. REGISTER

One of UPEI Facilities Management's strategic goals is to enhance customer service. Your feedback and suggestions are important to us and we want to hear from you on how we are doing.

We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes from your busy day and complete the online Facilities Management Customer Satisfaction Survey by February 9, 2018 to provide us with your current level of satisfaction and identify what we need to focus on in the upcoming year. Survey results will also allow us to measure our success as we implement customer service improvement objectives.
