We're here to help! UPEI faculty and staff members can assist you with services and information specifically for students.

COVID-19 Inquiries

If public health or your health care provider suspects you have COVID-19 or you are experiencing a respiratory illness including coughing, fever, feeling feverish, chills/shakes, breathing difficulty, chest tightness, or chest congestion, please visit the PEI Government’s contact information for inquiries about COVID-19.

Robertson Library

You can chat with Robertson Library staff by visiting https://library.upei.ca/ and clicking the "Ask Us" icon on the grey bar at the top of the page. When the service is offline, there are other ways to get help:

Writing Centre

The UPEI Writing Centre is offering online tutoring (eTutoring) and, when available, in-person tutoring in Room 274 in the Robertson Library. For the most up-to-date information on their availability, and to make appointments, register at upei.mywconline.com.

Subject-specific Help Centres

UPEI has dedicated subject-specific Help Centres for extra assistance in Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, and Sustainable Design Engineering.

IT Systems and Services Help Desk

The ITSS Help Desk is available from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. Please take note that the best way to reach ITSS for support is via our email helpdesk@upei.ca, or by submitting a request on our MyUPEI site. We are answering the phone and checking the voicemail on a best effort basis only.

Personal Counselling

Counselling Services offers confidential, short term help to students dealing with personal, relational or mental health concerns. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, appointments can be scheduled and held remotely using video chat, or we can talk on the phone—whichever way makes you most comfortable.

We're located on the fifth floor of Dalton Hall.

Chaplaincy Centre and Campus Food Bank

The Chaplaincy Centre provides a location to meet, eat, socialize, pray, and hold religious services. Our UPEI Campus Ministry team provides a spiritual presence that is supportive of students, faculty, staff and administration. Regular opportunities for worship of all faiths are available at the Chaplaincy Centre.

The Chaplaincy Centre also houses the Campus Food Bank which is donation driven, open and available for UPEI students. Depending on finances at any given time of year, many students take advantage of this service for donations and receiving support.

Academic Advising

Academic advisors can play a critical role in promoting students success and, as a result, help to retain them. Students who feel connected to an institution, feel cared about, understand their purpose, and have clear academic and career goals are more apt to persist in their academic endeavours.

Health Centre

The mission of the UPEI Health and Wellness Centre is to provide access to high quality, safe health care to students, staff, faculty, and families. To accomplish these ends, the Health and Wellness Centre is committed to partnering with interdisciplinary and collaborative teams to deliver health promotion, optimal health care and ongoing education.

Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office

UPEI's Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SV-PRO) is a safe and confidential space for students, staff, and faculty who have experienced sexual violence to obtain support.

Bookstore

The UPEI Bookstore is the place for all of your textbook and course material needs. The UPEI Bookstore provides a wide range of merchandise and services including new and used textbooks, clothing, and giftware supplies​. We also provide essential school merchandise like backpacks, water bottles, and stationery equipment. We provide course specific materials like lab clothes, clickers, and safety goggles.

Student Union

The UPEI Student Union exists to represent the interests of UPEI students and improve the student experience at UPEI. We represent a diverse range of students from different places of origin and with different lived experiences. We will endeavour to make our organization as accessible as possible by actively incorporating all voices and dismantling barriers to participation so that all students feel included.

International Student Office

The International Student Office, located on the fourth (4th) floor of Dalton Hall, provides a variety of services for our international students.

Our office can help with:

  • Cultural and social activities for international students
  • Assistance with study permits for UPEI students
  • Support for international students transitioning to UPEI
  • Assistance and guidance for international students at UPEI throughout their degree
  • Buddy program for international students
  • Immigration services for current international students

Experiential Education

The Experiential Education department helps students to bridge school and work.

Athletics and Recreation

Athletics and Recreation supports UPEI by providing leadership in the promotion and delivery of athletic excellence, quality physical activity programs, and services that enhance health, wellness, and a sense of community.  The Chi Wan Young Centre contains a hot sauna, weight room, basketball court, swimming pool, track, two ice surfaces, and physiotherapy. These facilities are available to students and the general public, enabling them to function at their highest level physically, mentally and emotionally.

Financial Services

This unit is responsible for the timely and accurate billing, collection, deposit and recording of all student fees and related charges. This unit must also ensure that appropriate financial systems and controls are in place.
