Graduation Application Process
Students eligible to graduate within the 2023–2024 academic year can now apply to graduate, via myUPEI > Student Toolbox > Student Planning > Graduation Overview, and have their credential(s) awarded at the end of the semester in which their program requirements have been fulfilled.
The graduation application requires selecting one of the following terms:
2023 Fall Semester
Deadline to apply to graduate: September 10, 2023
Students who have completed all program requirements in the Summer Semester but missed the deadline to apply to graduate for that term, or students who will complete all program requirements in the Fall Semester, and wish to receive their parchment(s) and have their credential(s) noted on their transcript are eligible to apply to graduate for this term. Subsequent to Senate approval on January 19, 2024, parchments and notations on transcripts for this term will be available beginning January 22, 2024.
2024 Winter Semester
Deadline to apply to graduate: December 31, 2023
Students who have previously completed their requirements but did not graduate in an earlier term, or students who will complete all program requirements in the Winter Semester are eligible to apply to graduate for this term. Subsequent to Senate approval on May 3, 2024, notations on transcripts for this term will be available beginning May 6, 2024, and parchments will be available at your program’s Convocation or to pick up at Dalton Hall beginning May 21, 2024.
Missed deadline to apply to graduate:
If you have missed the deadline to apply to graduate you must:
- Apply to graduate to the next available semester.
- Complete an Academic Regulation Appeal Form outlining the reason(s) for the late submission and why your application to graduate should be considered. Note: Late applications for graduation will only be considered within 30 days of the deadline of the term they are appealing to graduate from and if all program requirements will have been met by the grades due date.
Parchments will be available to be picked up at the Student Experience Hub on the second level of Dalton Hall during regular business hours beginning on the availability dates identified for each graduation term. If you have previously picked up your parchment and plan to attend Convocation you will still be issued a parchment folder when crossing the stage.
Parchment mailing is available for off-Island addresses only. A request for mailing on the application to graduate will be processed on or shortly after the parchment availability date.
