UPEI and Health PEI are inviting consultants to submit proposals to assess and analyze PEI’s health system capacity to integrate medical learners from the University of Prince Edward Island’s Faculty of Medicine. The new Faculty will be offering a joint doctor of medicine degree with partner Memorial University.
Dr. Greg Keefe, UPEI’s interim President and Vice-Chancellor, delivered a presentation to approximately 75 people on January 13, 2023, updating them on the progress of the development of the UPEI Faculty of Medicine, the joint doctor of medicine degree with Memorial University, and the new building being built at the north end of campus that will house the new faculty.
In an update to the campus community, President Keefe outlines the progress made on the development of a joint UPEI-Memorial Doctor of Medicine degree and the UPEI Faculty of Medicine.
President Keefe updates the campus community on several collaborative and positive initiatives at UPEI in a message to faculty and staff.
The University of Prince Edward Island will hold a series of town hall meetings across PEI to get public input about the development of a joint medical degree with Memorial University. All are welcome to attend any of the meetings.
In a message to the campus community, President Keefe announced several key appointments for the University including that of Dr. Greg Naterer who will be UPEI's new Vice-President Academic and Research effective May 1, 2022.
Today, the Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, and Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Prince Edward Island, announced the expansion of the Faculty of Nursing and UPEI Health and Wellness Centre, as well as the establishment of a new Faculty of Medicine at UPEI.
