For Nate Visser, a student at Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Regional Campus at the University of Prince Edward Island, the path to pursuing a medical degree is deeply personal. His five-year-old son, Emmett, was born with two rare genetic conditions.

UPEI’s 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign was an unprecedented success, raising a total of $44,010 from 54 extremely generous donors on the Global Day of Philanthropy. An anonymous donor pledged to match Giving Tuesday donations up to $20,000, making it by far the largest year yet for UPEI. The donations will be dedicated to the University’s $15-million Robertson Library Revitalization campaign.
