Free Movie Showing of Ryan’s Well
The UPEI Charity Club invites the campus community to the showing of Ryan’s Well, on Wednesday, February 4 from 2:00-3:30 pm in room 104, K.C. Iriving Chemistry Centre, as part of UPEI's International Development Week.
Ryan's Well is an inspirational story about a boy who was determined to make a difference in the lives of the people living Angolo, Uganda. Through Ryan Hreljac’s fundraising efforts, thousands of dollars was raised to build a well for the village. This documentary follows Ryan’s story from his first conversations with his Ugandan pen pal to the day he visited Angolo and saw the well for the first time.

Dr. Frances Gray Music Performance Competition 2015 Finals
The Dr. Frances Gray Music Performance Competition 2015 Finals concert will be held Thursday, January 22 at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, UPEI at 7:30 pm. This annual competition was recently renamed in honour of Dr. Gray’s retirement from the UPEI Music Department.
The six students chosen from the preliminary round to perform in the finals are: Rebecca Apps, soprano; Jillian Clow, mezzo soprano; Leah Inman, piano; Lucas MacPhail, alto saxophone; Kailey Norris, clarinet and Hannah Rollwage, mezzo soprano.
Judges for the competition are well-known PEI musicians and educators: Reg Ballagh, Peter Bevan Baker, Ken Fornetran, Karen Graves and Anne White.

UPEI & Holland College Ducks Unlimited Banquet
The UPEI & Holland College Chapter of Ducks Unlimited Canada will host their first annual fundraising banquet on March 26, 2015, in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre with doors opening at 5:30 pm and dinner at 7:00 pm.
All proceeds go towards Ducks Unlimited Canada's conservation work on Prince Edward Island. This chapter is only the second in Canada run by post secondary school students.

UPEI students, staff and faculty are invited to attend a fun and competitive inter-faculty competition to see who has the best Hockey team! The event is free of charge and takes place at the MacLauchlan Arena beginning at 1:00pm on Friday, January 23.

Free math session on decimals

Join Dr. Tess Miller, associate professor of mathematics in the Faculty of Education, for a free math workshop on decimals on Thursday, February 5 from 4:30-6:00 pm in Health Sciences Building, room 104.
This session is open to all UPEI students, parents, teachers, pre-service teachers, etc. The purpose of the workshop is to explore decimal concepts using pictorial representations – an easy hands-on approach. Advanced registration (tmiller@upei.ca) is required.
