Dr. Jerry Wang recognized for service to the Canadian Bureau of International Education
Congratulations to Dr. Jerry Wang, director of recruitment and advisement and the International Student Office at UPEI, on receiving an award from the Canadian Bureau of International Education (CBIE) for his service to the organization.
Dr. Wang served on the CBIE board of governors from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022, specifically the membership relations committee. He was an engaged board member who provided excellent leadership and valuable advice.

UPEI's Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office (SV-PRO) is a safe and confidential space where students, staff, and faculty who have experienced sexual violence can obtain support. The SV-PRO connects people with services that are trauma-informed and suited to their individual needs.
UPEI Wind Symphony alumni reunite for performances on December 29
From December 27–29, 2022, over 60 former members of the UPEI Wind Symphony, representing graduating classes from 1972–2022, will gather at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall to reconnect, rehearse, and perform. Most of the alumni are professional musicians representing diverse careers in the music discipline.
2023 UPEI Residence Virtual Information Session
UPEI Residence Services, in partnership with the UPEI Recruitment team, will be hosting a virtual information session for prospective Fall 2023 students.
This session will include details regarding Residence applications to our four residence buildings on the UPEI campus, requirements, recommended timelines, and helpful tips!
The session will take place at 5:00 pm AST on Monday, December 19.

On Thursday, December 29, over 60 former members of the UPEI Wind Symphony, representing graduating classes from 1972–2022, will give two public performances--at dress rehearsal at 9:30 am and a formal performance at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the performances are $20 (cash only) and can be purchased at the door.

Saint John prop Kiley Brow commits to UPEI Rugby
The UPEI Women’s Rugby Panthers have recruited Kiley Brow, a 17-year-old from Saint John, New Brunswick, who plays the prop position and brings a wealth of talent to the team.
The last time the UPEI Women’s Rugby Panthers recruited a prop from Saint John, it turned out to be a good fit for both player and team. That player was AUS all-star and U SPORTS all-Canadian Emily Duffy, who was a critical piece to the 2022 championship team. The Panthers and head coach James Voye are hoping to strike gold again in Brow.
Recognition of UPEI Founders ceremony
Dr. Greg Keefe, president and vice-chancellor (interim), invites, faculty staff, and students to the University’s 2022 Recognition of Founders ceremony on Monday, December 19, at 1:30 pm. During the ceremony, Dr. Douglas Dahn, Cathy Gillan, and Dr. Timothy Ogilvie will be honoured as Founders for their contributions to UPEI. The ceremony and reception will take place in The McCain Foundation Learning Commons, Atlantic Veterinary College. All are welcome to attend.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), with support from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), hosted its first NSERC Day in Veterinary Medicine on Saturday, November 26.
Festive Coffee Break for UPEI students
UPEI students can enjoy free coffee, cookies, and cocoa at a Festive Coffee Break on Tuesday, December 13, from 11:30 am to 1 pm in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre (weather willing!). The Festive Coffee Break is sponsored by the Office of the President.
