Office of the Chief Information Officer
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible to oversee the University’s IT strategy and execution—including governance and risk analysis—ensuring it fully supports UPEI’s academic mission. The office supports all ITSS functions at UPEI.
Mark Caduc joined UPEI as Interim Chief Information Officer on June 5.
With over 30 years of experience as a strategic information technology leader, Mr. Caduc is passionate about digital transformation and the fostering of innovation to enhance the experiences of students, faculty, and staff.
He comes from Bishop’s University, where he was CIO and Director of IT Services since 2020 and also a member of the Board of Governors. He led the university’s rapid pivot to online and hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, guided the modernization of its IT infrastructure and the enhancement of its cybersecurity measures, and introduced new data protection policies and IT governance practices.
