Congratulations on your acceptance to the 12-month Bachelor of Education program!
Below is a list of important information and forms you’ll need to read and respond to in order to finalize your admission to the Bachelor of Education program. Please review this carefully as some items have deadlines. This page will be updated frequently so keep checking back.
Admission to the Education program is conditional until all prerequisite requirements have been fulfilled. Questions about the required documentation can be directed to the BEd office (902) 620-5155, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Candidates may also be requested to attend an interview.
1. Pre-Service Teacher Experience Profile
The Faculty of Education acknowledges that each student brings previous experiences or training that enriches the program and influences current and future career paths. This information sheet allows the faculty to assess a candidate's background in relation to experiences with children and youth, diversity, awards, hobbies, etc. This very important information sheet will be completed upon arrival.
2. Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
In order to gain access to schools, all pre-service teachers must have a Criminal Record Check which includes a Vulnerable Sector screening. This is to be provided to the Faculty of Education’s administration office. Your local police department or RCMP can typically process these forms for you for a fee.
3. Mumps/Measles/Rubella (MMR) booster vaccination
You must also provide verification that you have received the Mumps/Measles/Rubella (MMR) booster vaccination. Proof of required vaccination must be provided to the Faculty of Education administration office. You likely have received this vaccine as a baby but must provide proof of receiving a booster to ensure immunization. Vaccines can be obtained from your local Public Health Office or your family doctor. If you have any concerns regarding the MMR vaccination, please consult your doctor.
4. Tuition Deposit
Payment of a non-refundable tuition deposit confirms acceptance of the offer of admission. This deposit will go toward first semester fees.
5. Payment of Tuition and Fees
6. Financial Aid Information
UPEI's Financial Aid Office can assist you in finding the best way to finance your education. Click here for more information regarding Financial Aid for both Canadian and US students. Visit the Scholarships and Bursaries page for a complete list of awards.
7. Your Contact Information
If at any time during this process, there is a change in your name or address, it is essential that this change be sent to the Registrar’s Office at email@example.com and the Faculty of Education office.
We look forward to meeting you in May!
