Calvin Murray has been interested in the health-care profession since he was a child growing up in Elmsdale, PEI. He graduated from UPEI with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2021 and has worked as a registered nurse at the Western Hospital in Alberton ever since.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 15 UPEI student teams presented their business concepts to a live audience, competing for a share of $75,000 in prize money at the annual MacLauchlan Panther Pitch Competition.

The UPEI Faculty of Medicine has reached an important milestone in its development, achieving applicant status with the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS). This marks a significant step toward establishing an independently accredited MD program designed for and in Prince Edward Island.
