FSDE Vigil in Recognition of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, which marks the day in 1989 when 14 young women at École Polytechnique in Montreal (12 of whom were engineering students) were murdered in a violent act of misogyny that shook our country.
UPEI recognizes International Day for Persons with Disabilities on December 3
The University of Prince Edward Island will recognize the 2025 International Day for Persons with Disabilities on December 3 by flying the Flag of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in front of Kelley Memorial Building from December 2–4.

UPEI marks 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with flag event
UPEI is marking the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with a Red Flag Green Flag event that involves red and green laminated signs hung across campus. The signs are printed with examples and messages about “red flag” (unhealthy) behaviours and “green flag” (healthy) behaviours in dating and relationships.
Girls Get WISE Challenge Day takes place at UPEI on December 6
On Saturday, December 6, a “Girls Get WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Challenge Day” is being held at UPEI. The day will cover the topics of science, engineering, math, and technology for all female-identifying/two-spirited individuals in grades K-12.

Panel of equity, diversity, and inclusion experts conduct review of UPEI EDI and Human Rights department
A panel of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) experts made up of three external and one internal reviewer is on the UPEI campus from November 26–28, meeting with key stakeholders and conducting a review of the UPEI Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights (EDIHR) department.
Together the panel brings decades of experience leading equity, diversity, inclusion and human rights functions in post-secondary institutions as well as leading the Canadian Association for Harassment and Discrimination in Higher Education.
