The Department of English invites applications for the position of Sessional Instructor to teach one section of English 3040 (Contemporary Fiction) in the Winter Semester of the 2026-27 academic year. This appointment is subject to budget approval.


ENGLISH 3040 – CONTEMPORARY FICTION       
                                                                                  
This course studies trends and techniques in fiction in English since the Second World War. It includes representative novels and short stories by major writers of various nationalities.  

Three hours per week


Qualifications:

Applicants for this position should have a PhD in 20th or 21st century English literature and a publishing record in the field.  Preference will be given to applicants with experience in teaching university English literature courses that focus on 20th and/or 21st century literature.
