Sessional Instructor - Department of Applied Human Sciences - Faculty of Science - Summer 2026

The Department of Applied Human Sciences at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications to teach the following course in the Summer 2026 semester.
This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
FN/KINE 4090: Health Centre Practicum (Tuesdays 12:00-12:50 PM)
This course explores what shapes student well-being at university and how students themselves can help make campus a healthier, more supportive place. In partnership with the UPEI Health and Wellness Centre, students will take part in hands-on, project-based learning where they design, create, and launch real peer-education and health-promotion initiatives on campus. Topics include determinants of student health, barriers to accessing support, peer-led programming, and strategies for creating accessible, evidence-informed well-being resources on campus.
One-hour lecture per week and 80 hours of field placement.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold an MSc or PhD in a field related to the course content, or a BSc with a relevant professional designation and/or experience. The instructor must be a current employee of the UPEI Health and Wellness Centre to facilitate student work placements. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty members of the Academic unit.
