Success Centre Student Coordinator - Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering
$21.20 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
September – December 23, 2025
Acknowledging that UPEI is located on the unceded land of the Mi’kmaq Nation, of the Wabanaki Confederacy, in the traditional district of Epekwitk, the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) welcomes applications from dynamic and motivated students to support the development and implementation for academic success, community engagement and also outreach activities as part of the FSDE’s Engineering Success Centre (ESC). This position reports to the Coordinator of the ESC. The ESC is seeking applications for a student coordinator up to 8h/week for the Fall 2025 semester with a possibility for extension to Winter 2026 semester.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with digital development, including the use of Microsoft SharePoint, Power Automate, and related digital tools to support ESC online operations
- Assist with technical support and training on laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC machining, and other shop technologies
- Hold Centre shift hours to support in-person and/or online to FSDE students, with an emphasis on mentoring and tutoring upper-year classes (ENGN 3000 & 4000 series)
- Assist the instructors, teaching assistants with study support sessions
- Operate paper and 3D printing services to FSDE students
- Develop and organize initiatives improving students’ wellness, networking skills, professional development skills, learning tips
- Develop and implement engagement activities, projects including travel to institutions, communities on PEI
- Offering leadership in mentoring undergraduate student assistants, coordinating small project teams, and supporting FSDE’s initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a UPEI student
- Strong communication, interpersonal and professional skills
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with digital development using Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with 3D design and printing is an asset
- Familiarity with WordPress website management and basic networking is an asset
- Previous experience as a Student Marker, Assistant, Ambassador is an asset
- Previous upper-year classes in high standing (ENGN 3000 & 4000 series) is an asset
