Overview: The Microcredential in Applied Artificial Intelligence for the Workplace provides a practical, accessible introduction to how modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can be used to enhance everyday work. This microcredential blends foundational knowledge with hands-on exploration to help participants understand what AI is, how it functions, and how it can be applied responsibly within professional environments.

Throughout the three days, participants examine where AI can streamline tasks, improve processes, assist with analysis, and support decision-making, while also exploring the equally important areas of ethics, privacy, data quality, and appropriate human oversight.

Drawing on real workplace examples across government, business, non-profits, healthcare, and education, the Microcredential in Applied Artificial Intelligence for the Workplace demonstrates both the opportunities and the limitations of AI in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.

Participants learn to think critically about AI-generated outputs, identify risks and unintended consequences, and develop strategies for integrating AI into workflows safely and effectively. By the end of the microcredential, each participant will have created an individualized AI Readiness Plan that outlines concrete next steps for applying AI tools in their team or organization.

What is a Microcredential from ACENET: ACENET microcredentials are focused, applied training that build practical skills in advanced digital and computational tools.
