The Department of Companion Animals will interview Dr. Cameron Prior for a tenure-track faculty position in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Dr. Prior will be on campus Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16, 2025.

Dr. Prior received his BVSc in 2018, from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort, SA, where he graduated top 10 in his class, in Veterinary Core Practice. In 2020 he completed his MSc Small Animal Internal Medicine from the University of Pretoria. Following graduation, he completed an internship and worked as an emergency veterinarian before completing a Small Animal Internal Medicine residency with the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Prior achieved board certification by ECVIM in 2025. Dr. Prior is an active member of the Internal Medicine team at Willows Veterinary Center and referral service in the United Kingdom; his interests include antimicrobial stewardship, gastroenterology, diabetes, and aspergillosis. He also established a diabetic-focused veterinary clinic, with the aim of increasing the standard of care and enhancing the quality of life for diabetic pets.

As part of the interview process, the candidate has been asked to present a 50-minute seminar on two separate topics: the first, a topic that would be appropriate to teach to third-year veterinary students; the second, to present their research interests:
