UPEI is currently working with Holland College to develop new academic programming to support the Province’s objectives to create a cleantech sector cluster in PEI and to achieve net zero GHG emissions by 2040. As part of this work, UPEI has created an interdisciplinary Cleantech Curriculum Working Group which is responsible for its curriculum development. This position provides administrative support to Working Group. This position reports to the Dean of Graduate Studies but works under the direction of the Chair of the Cleantech Curriculum Working Group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the work of the Cleantech Curriculum Working Group and its Chair
  • Provide logistics/planning support for the Working Group and its Chair, including scheduling meetings, booking rooms, setting up Zoom meetings, etc.
  • Support Chair to establish meeting agendas
  • Record/coordinate meeting minutes
  • Control all documents
  • Advise Chair and Working Group on curriculum development and internal UPEI approval processes (FGS/Registrar/APCC/Senate)
  • Prepare all required forms for curriculum review and approval
  • Liaise with Director Strategic Planning regarding MPHEC submission/review processes
  • Liaise with Registrar's Office, Robertson Library and other units that support curriculum development, approval, and program delivery
  • Support the Chair to coordinate the work of various relevant faculties/units involved in the project
  • Support the Chair to coordinate curriculum development work with Holland College 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An appropriate post-secondary program in office administration with at least two (2) years related work experience and/or a combination of education and related work experience
  • A familiarity with curriculum development, review, and approval processes in a university setting
  • A familiarity with university processes and the roles of the various units on campus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong understanding and skills in document management and control
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal, collaborative, and communication (both oral and written) skills
  • An ability to work independently and as a member of a team, exercising a high degree of judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills in software packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, etc.
