UPEI is currently developing a professional Master’s program in Cleantech Leadership. This program will help develop knowledge capacity needed to support PEI’s transition to net zero energy by 2030 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. The professional graduate program will be part of a larger initiative within the Cleantech Academy, a joint initiative of UPEI and Holland College. The Cleantech Academy and its innovation centre will work to foster a community dedicated to innovation and collaboration through post-secondary education and industry connections.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President Research and Dean of Graduate Studies (AVPR/DGS), this position will work with UPEI faculty members through the UPEI Cleantech Curriculum Working Group to coordinate curriculum development for the new interdisciplinary Master’s program. The Program Manager will also be responsible for liaising with university colleagues and external partners on the program’s overall development leading to the program’s implementation and launch in September 2025. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in collaboration with the AVPR/DGS and the UPEI Cleantech Curriculum Working Group to identify program needs, develop program curriculum and learning outcomes
  • Manage all aspects related to program consultation, development, approval processes, program launch, and implementation
  • Liaise with university colleagues in areas such as (but not limited to) program development, academic processes, research and innovation, instructional design, program approval processes, marketing and communications, resource alignment relating to program delivery, and student supports
  • Liaise with post-secondary partner, Holland College, to coordinate efforts in support of the Cleantech Academy
  • Develop a post-launch program implementation plan
  • Supervise administrative support staff as necessary to carry out the work

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A relevant four-year post-secondary bachelor's degree with at least five (5) years related work experience and/or an acceptable combination of education and related work experience
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, the development of learning outcomes, and review and approval processes in a university setting
  • An understanding of university processes and the roles of the various units on campus
  • Project management experience, including the ability to establish priorities and project timelines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal, collaborative, and communication (both oral and written) skills
  • Proven ability to navigate complex environments
  • An ability to work independently and as a member of a team, exercising a high degree of judgment, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of the Canadian post-secondary education landscape, as well as energy and cleantech sectors is considered an asset
