The Murphy Laboratory in the Department of Biology requires a Laboratory Technician to assist with research projects applying proteomics and metabolomics to study breast cancer cell metabolism.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating multiple research projects related to cancer cell metabolism
  • Performing and training graduate/undergraduate students to perform, proteomics and metabolomics
  • Analysis of large-scale metabolomics and proteomics datasets
  • Routine maintenance of cancer cell lines.
  • Keeping accurate records of laboratory experiments, data, and inventory
  • Aiding in the preparation of grant applications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc. with a major in Biology or Chemistry
  • Experience in performing basic molecular biology laboratory techniques such as Western blotting
  • Previous experience in the collection and analysis of proteomics and metabolomics data
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in training others a laboratory setting would be considered an asset
