The Department of Development and Alumni Engagement is seeking applications for the position of Alumni Engagement Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent the University in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve. Interact effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, alumni, students, and other customers of our services; learn and use operating practices of the department and the University
  • Oversee the day–to–day operations of the Alumni Engagement Office and adhere to a budget
  • Oversee Alumni Association Operations – Serve as ex-officio on the board, report on alumni activities, record meetings, manage alumni programs (Insurance, discounts, etc.), and follow the association by-laws and constitution. Organize and execute the Distinguished and Inspiring Alumni Awards on behalf of the Alumni Association
  • Oversee UPEI Alumni Chapters – lead alumni chapter strategy for growth and engagement through establishing and building relationships with alumni locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally
  • Partner with colleagues across campus to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement in various university opportunities (recruitment, faculty engagement, New Student Orientation, etc.)
  • Supervise the Alumni Engagement Coordinator in setting strategy and implementing alumni outreach activities, including reunions, newsletters, homecoming, website content, frame sales, New Student Orientation, etc.
  • Supervise the Alumni Engagement Coordinator in the strategy and execution of the UPEI Annual Fund campaign to achieve $150,000+ goal in annual giving
  • Work with the campus community to build communication and benefits offered to alumni and strengthen personal contact
  • Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in programs
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit funds for select special projects and events in collaboration with Development colleagues to increase support from alumni
  • Engage, track, and report on alumni engagement activities for departmental use and for strategic planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree is required and a minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Highly organized in thought and action, the successful candidate will have a broad background and successful track-record in relationship building and engaging diverse constituencies around common interests
  • As a strategic level thinker and planner, the candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to create and implement a strategic plan developed in collaboration with the University and the Alumni Association Board of Directors
  • Experience with fund development, ideally in a post-secondary education environment, would be considered an asset
