$51,038 to $56,129 per annum, prorated to time and term, as per CUPE 1870

The Department of Biology of the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a laboratory instructor to be responsible for labs that may include but are not limited to Bio 1060 – Introductory Microbiology for Health Sciences, Bio 2260-Human Anatomy & Histology, and lab-based courses in the winter (that may include but are not limited to Botany and Genetics).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up and attending laboratory periods to assist students with the following: technical aspects of lab, operation of equipment, performing data analysis, and writing reports
  • Assisting the course instructor with evaluating assignments
  • Other lab-related duties as assigned by the course instructors or Chair of the Department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.Sc. in Biology, with a strong background in anatomy, physiology, and microbiology
  • BEd. or M.Sc. would be a definite asset
  • Good scientific communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience instructing biology labs
