Sessional Instructor - Environmental Studies Program - Faculty of Science - Fall 2025

The Environmental Studies Program at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor during the forthcoming Fall 2025 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the courses offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
ENV 3010 – Enviro Studies Internship
This course provides students with opportunities to develop, integrate and apply their knowledge of environmental issues and theory. Students will be involved in 'internship' experiences with varied environmental organizations, in environmental action research on campus issues or in other settings, and in developing personal plans for environmental action and change. Classroom discussions and written work will aid students in developing a multidisciplinary and systems approach to the analysis of these experiences. One and a half hours per week in class, two and a half hours per week in practicum work.
T/TH 8:30 AM – 9:45 AM
Please note that the instructor will be responsible for teaching the lecture component (T/Th 8:30 AM) and coordinating the practicum placement and supervising the students of this course.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants should hold a minimum of a master’s degree in environmental or a related field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience in the subject area for the course. Applicants should have experience in teaching, research or industry practice related to the course content.
Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
