The Department of Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor during the forthcoming Winter 2024 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

PSY 4320 – Group Processes & Dynamics

This course introduces students to the history, theory, methods, principles, and applications of group dynamics, as well as the developmental stages of groups. Group processes, intragroup relations, and the development of social and group identities are discussed. In addition, group members’ roles and group variables are discussed. Throughout the semester, students will: discuss theories and emerging research related to group process; have the opportunity to apply principles through role-playing and participating in experiential components of this course; and apply this knowledge to plan and design short-and long-term group meeting experiences.
Three hours per week.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants should hold a Graduate degree or a Doctoral degree in Psychology.

Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
