Faculty member Dr. Gabriela Arias de Sanchez and Dr. Alaina Roach O’Keefe (Faculty of Education) are seeking one graduate research assistant to work on a project that will examine the State of Early Years Education in Prince Edward Island

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct and organize literature searches
  • Create and maintain an annotated bibliography
  • Assist with data collection
  • Conduct transcription of interviews
  • Assist with preliminary analysis and report generation
  • Assist in writing an article for publication
  • Assist with writing abstracts for conferences
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations for dissemination to conferences, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidate will have completed at least three years of an undergraduate program or one year of an education program
  • The preferred candidate will be enrolled in a graduate program at UPEI
  • Experience navigating UPEI ethics
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent writing/editing skills
  • Strong knowledge of APA
  • Expertise in developing PowerPoint presentations
  • Knowledge of qualitative research design
  • Ability to work independently
  • Understanding of early years and early childhood education would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience as a research assistant would be considered an asset
