Sessional Instructor - Department of English - Faculty of Arts (Winter 2024)
The Department of English invites applications for the position of Sessional Instructor to teach ENGLISH/ UPEI 1920-1: Introduction to Literature in the Winter 2024 term. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
ENG 1920-1 – Introduction to Literature
This course introduces the major literary genres and focuses upon a selection of representative works. Students explore and discuss the elements of poetry, fiction, and drama. Class work involves lectures and discussions, with a special emphasis on writing assignments.
Three hours a week - T/ Th 11:30 – 12:45
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching as well as clear evidence of effective teaching experience in first-year university writing studies. Minimal qualifications for eligible candidates are a Master’s degree in English. Preference will be given to applicants possessing a PhD in English.
This competition is only open to members of the Sessional Roster and Full-Time Faculty Members in the English Department.
