The Faculty of Arts is looking to hire a part-time Social Media Student Assistant. The successful candidate will design, coordinate, and implement Arts related content through various social media. Specifically, the successful candidate will promote the various Faculty of Arts events, as well as provide updates. The successful candidate will be expected to attend events and create social media content related to the events. The hours of work will be flexible, depending on the scheduling of events and the needs of the Arts Faculty. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop a Social Media strategy with the Dean’s Office
  • Generate social media content for the Faculty of Arts, such as posting notices of upcoming events, announcements, and updates
  • Track viewer engagement, and revise the strategy to promote engagement
  • Coordinate and post content on various social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Communicate regularly with and work under the supervision of the Office of the Dean
  • Assist with the production of a monthly Faculty of Arts Newsletter

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • Must be a current UPEI student
  • Competence in social media communications and visual content generation (proficiency with Canva and other relevant video editing software is considered an asset.)
  • Competence in newsletter design and production  
  • Experience with viewership engagement strategies
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong judgement
  • Ability to work independently with good time management skills
  • Ability to work irregular hours throughout the day
  • Ability to follow university and Faculty policies relevant to this position
