Student Support Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs Funded)- Department of Accessibility Services - Term Position
$17.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

Accessibility Services provides accommodations, supports, and services for students with temporary or permanent disabilities and neurodiverse students across all programs at UPEI. The Department of Accessibility Services at UPEI is seeking a Student Support Assistant. The Student Support Assistant will work collaboratively with the Accessibility Services staff team, with the primary focus being on supporting inquiries from incoming students, providing office assistance, and supporting departmental projects, including the updating of digital and electronic resources for students, staff, and faculty.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support for administrative tasks and projects within Accessibility Services
• Provide administrative support through greeting students, answering calls, and booking appointments
• Assist in the creation of electronic versions of accommodation guidelines for website use
• Review of current processes and procedures for automation opportunities
• Assist in updating training for “how to resources” and link on website
• Support the updating and refreshing of the Accessibility Services web page
• Digitize documents for the department
• Update resources used by students through Accessibility Services
• Assistance with policy and procedure updates and related forms
• Other duties and projects as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Completion of at least two years of post-secondary schooling
• Attention to detail, organization and content creation skills
• Flexibility in navigating between tasks and duties
• Interest in documenting processes and procedures and identifying areas for improvement
• Experience with online course/content creation and/or website layout and functionality would be considered an asset
ELIGIBILITY:
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.

HOURS: 35 hours per week
SALARY: $17.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
