Student Assistant - McDougall Faculty of Business
$17.60 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay

UPEI’s McDougall Faculty Business (MFoB) is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking, and engaging individual to help our recruitment efforts. The Student Assistant will join our dynamic team to deliver support and services required for recruitment and retention. The priorities are to support first year student recruitment and to provide peer mentorship and leadership to existing students. The Student Assistant will provide proactive, professional, personalized, caring, and accurate responses to inquiries and requests to nurture and build a caring, supportive, and inclusive networks, developing strong ties with prospective students both within and outside Canada. The Student Assistant will also play a critical role in the enhancement of recruitment activities through social media and virtual activities, collaborating with UPEI’s recruitment and marketing teams. The Student Assistant will also form part of a team to support MFoB students in their pathway through the BBA and other MFoB programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Following up with students who have applied or expressed interest in MFoB programs
- Responding to inquiries/leads to nurture relationships with potential students to enhance conversion of applicants to students
- Providing admission and program information to prospective students and stakeholders
- Developing prospective communication for social media and other communication channels
- Supporting the MFoB Student Success team, UPEI recruitment, and marketing to achieve MFoB enrolment goals
- Acting as a peer mentor for existing and new MFoB student
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current UPEI student
- Demonstrated experience in using technology (including social media platforms) that support student engagement activities
- Strong and demonstrated experience with professional, compassionate, and persuasive email communications
- Dynamic and energetic person who values meaningful professional relationships
- Preference will be given to candidates with post-secondary student recruitment and student transition experience
- Understanding of UPEI graduate programs would be considered an asset
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
