The Faculty of Education is seeking applicants for a 10-month term position in the BEd (français langue seconde) Program, to commence ideally on May 1, 2024, (start date could also be July 1 2024). This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be bilingual, have superior oral and written French, have a Bachelor of Education and a relevant Master’s degree, and demonstrate successful teaching in a K-12 context in one or more aspects of French Education (French Immersion, French First Language, Core French, Intensive French). Candidates with other credentials considered equivalent may be considered. Candidates without a completed Master’s may be considered provided the extent of relevant k-12 and/or post-secondary teaching is significant. The successful candidate may be required to supervise student teachers and could be invited to teach courses including but not restricted to: Teaching Literacy, Language and Content, Global Education, Play-based learning, and Teaching Social Studies.  A valid driver’s license is required. Teaching in a post-secondary context is considered an asset.  

The Faculty of Education is committed to developing caring, compassionate, and innovative teachers. We offer 12-month Bachelor of Education programs in English and French Education, a Master of Education degree in both course-based and thesis-based streams, and a PhD in Educational Studies.
