We are seeking a skilled Policy Analyst to join our team. The Policy Analyst will play a crucial role in researching, analyzing, and updating policies that align with our organization's objectives and values. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of policy types with Senior leaders in the Vice-President Administration and Finance portfolio. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the Vice-President, develop a work plan for updating existing Board of Governor policies
  • Work with directors, managers and staff to review and update existing Board of Governors policies and procedures
  • Coordinate final policy review and approval with the University Auditor and Board of Governors support staff
  • Identify gaps in policies through research on best practices, university setting and an examination of the university’s scope of operations and develop policy recommendations accordingly
  • Assist in communicating and coordinating education sessions for updated policies once approved by the Board of Governors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on public policy, political science, economics, or a related field
  • Proven experience in policy analysis and research, preferably in a university or government organization
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, evaluate evidence, and draw insightful conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a university environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Knowledge of relevant policy frameworks, university processes, and stakeholders
