The Faculty of Nursing, University of Prince Edward Island, has a sessional teaching opportunity in NURS 3230: Partnerships with Clients and Families Living with Chronic Illness (mental health section), in the Fall Semester of 2022 academic year. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

NURS-3230 - Partnerships with Clients and Families Living with Chronic Illness

This course encourages students to develop partnerships with clients and families to enhance the quality of life of those experiencing increasingly complex chronic illnesses. The principles of primary health care pertaining to accessibility, intersectoral collaboration and public participation for clients and their families with chronic illness will be examined in depth. Application of these principles to the population of adults experiencing increasingly complex illnesses in acute medical/surgical and mental health settings will be emphasized.

Term:  August 31, 2022 – December 21, 2022 

Hours: 10 hours per week. Course Instruction on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 – 9:45 A.M. 

Salary: $6,421.00 (3 credit course) per hour in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the University of Prince Edward Island Board of Governors and The University of Prince Edward Island Faculty Association Bargaining Unit #1

Start Date: August 31, 2022

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related health discipline. Candidates applying will normally have established expertise, and successful leadership and/or teaching experience in a context related to the focus of the course. Previous experience in teaching is an asset.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the Faculty of Nursing’s Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
