The Environmental Studies Program at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course in the Fall 2022 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

ENV 2030 – Societies and Sustainability: Past and Present

This course explores the concept of sustainability in relation to how societies have interacted with the environment over time. Through exploration of successes and failures from historical and contemporary societies, students will develop the capacity to understand the ecological context in which humans live, to recognize limits, and to design sustainable human systems for the future.  

Classes: M/W 4:30 – 5:45 PM

Three semester hours of credit

Qualifications:

Successful applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s degree in an environmental or related field, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience in the subject area for the course. Applicants should have experience in teaching, research or practice related to the course content.

Members of the Faculty of Science’s Sessional Roster will be given priority in consideration for this position.
