The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (OCEPD) is seeking applications for the position of Program Officer for a 3 Year Contract. Reporting to the Manager, this position will focus on assisting with Workplace Harassment and Violent Prevention Fund programming offered through the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Officer will:

  • Develop and oversee the new, grant-funded Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Training at UPEI (University of Prince Edward Island) 
  • Track and manage the project budget – overseeing expenses and future projected costs for the project, updating the budget documentation accordingly
  • Oversee the hiring of industry consultants and facilitators required for the development and overall success of the project 
  • Collaborate with consultants and facilitators, fostering these relationships as project activities are carried out, adhering to the grant project timeline
  • Support facilitators and E-learning Specialist in the development of curriculum, website content and course materials adhering to adult learning principles and expert design methodology
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of contracts for facilitators
  • Create a schedule for the rollout of all program activities, including a training schedule for the delivery of courses
  • Collaborate with the E-learning Specialist to ensure the online learning platform and website are developed to a high standard of excellence
  • Manage participant registrations and program-related communication for both streams of the programming, in consultation with OCEPD staff
  • Generate reports to the government as required under the grant program specifications
  • Collaborate with OCEPD staff and UPEI in the development of advertising and marketing materials for the grant project
  • Assist the E-learning specialist in the creation, organization, dissemination, and maintenance of course evaluations and surveys/research data, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to inform program modifications
  • Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of program quality, providing feedback to facilitators
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and activities in the OCEPD as required
  • Other duties, as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field 
  • Preference given to candidates with 2 years or more of experience with project management, organizing, operations, managing budgets and generating reports
  • Experience in Adult Education, Instructional Design and/or Curriculum Development would be considered a strong asset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; the covering letter and resume will be used to assess written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of various forms of technology; extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products including advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills, Colleague, Moodle, 25Live, and myUPEI 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse and busy (high-volume) client service environment, with superior interpersonal skills
  • Intercultural competence and function as an effective member of a team 
  • Demonstrate superior customer service orientation and attention to detail; previous communications centered experience would be an asset
  • Ability to successfully advance multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
