The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (OCEPD) is seeking applications for the position of E-Learning Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, this position will focus on assisting with Workplace Harassment and Violent Prevention Fund programming offered through the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The E-Learning Specialist will:

  • Contribute to the development and success of the new, grant-funded Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Training at UPEI 
  • Collaborate with OCEPD staff, the Program Officer, consultants, and facilitators, fostering these relationships as project activities are carried out, adhering to the grant project timeline
  • Oversee the implementation of an online learning platform to house the curriculum
  • Develop and oversee the creation of asynchronous and synchronous online curricular content for both streams of the programming in collaboration with facilitators
  • Develop and oversee the creation and effective organization/design of materials for the dedicated website for the grant project
  • Assist Program Officer with the management of participant registrations for both streams of the programming
  • Collaborate with the Program Officer, OCEPD staff and UPEI Marketing and Graphic Design in the development of marketing and promotional materials for the project
  • Update website and create and maintain an online calendar of upcoming courses for the grant programming
  • Create feedback surveys and collect relevant data required for government reporting from participants and the online learning platform
  • Perform updates and revisions to curricular and/or website content as required, based on feedback from staff, facilitators, and participants
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of OCEPD programs and content as required
  • Other duties, as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Education, or a related field 
  • Preference given to candidates with 2 years or more of experience with e-learning, e-course design, OLP (Online Learning Platform) implementation and operation
  • Experience in Adult Education, Instructional Design and/or Curriculum Development would be considered a strong asset 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; the covering letter and resume will be used to assess written communication skills 
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience in graphic design would be an asset
  • Expert knowledge of various forms of technology; experience with Online Learning Platforms, Microsoft Office Suite of products including advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills, Colleague, Moodle, 25Live, and myUPEI 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse and busy (high-volume) client service environment, with superior interpersonal skills
  • Intercultural competence and function as an effective member of a team 
  • Demonstrate superior skills and experience working on collaborative projects
  • Ability to successfully advance multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and 
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability
